AudioLink Spectrum

Display a spectrum of frequencies in the currently playing music using AudioLink.

This feature is available on both the shadow and the border. You can copy between these two parts by right-clicking on the AL spectrum foldout and copy/pasting between them.

Color Gradient

Determines the color of the spectrum. This needs to be a left-to-right gradient texture.

The RGB color of this texture will be multiplied by the A channel to be able to use transparent gradients.

The coloration mode determines how this color gradient will be applied to the spectrum.

Tint

This color will multiply the RGBA of the color gradient, acting as a tint.

Coloration

Determines how the color gradient is applied to the spectrum.

Intensity

Intensity will use the "intensity" of the frequency (how high it goes) as the U coordinate for sampling the color gradient.

Frequency

Frequency will use the frequency (left to right) of the spectrum as the U coordinate for the color gradient.

Height

Height will use use how high up the pixel is as the U coordinate for the color gradient.

Normalized Height

Normalized height is a combination of height and intensity. It will apply the whole color gradient onto the spectrum as if the color was a blanket.

Type

Determines the type of frequency data as provided by AudioLink that will be used to display the spectrum.

Unsmoothed

This is unsmoothed raw AudioLink frequency data. Sharp and noisy.

  • Unsmoothed EQd This is unsmoothed raw AudioLink frequency data but EQ'd by the AudioLink panel in the world.
  • Smoothed These frequencies are smoothed and more pleasant to look at. This is the recommended option.

Height

Controls how tall or short the spectrum is.

Flip Height

Inverts the height UV so that the spectrum moves downward instead of upward.

Invert

Inverts the spectrum coloration so that the color is displayed by default and the spectrum removes from it.

Repetitions

Determines the number of times the frequency spectrum is repeated on the surface.

Height Offset

Lets you move the start of the spectrum up or down the surface.

Rotation

Lets you move the spectrum sideways on the surface.

Rotation Speed

Determines the speed at which the spectrum will automatically move sideways on the surface.

Mirror

When enabled, repetitions of the spectrum will appear symmetical.

Style

Determines the shape that the spectrum will take.

Smooth

A smooth curved shape.

Bars

Splits the spectrum into discrete bars sideways.

Circles

Partitions the spectrum into circles sideways and upward.

Squares

Partitions the spectrum into square sideways and upward. Exposes a size parameter that controls how big these squares will be.

Scale

For bars, circles and squares, determines the size of the partitioning, letting you squish and stretch the parts.

AL Rotation

AL Rotation is a AudioLink Chronotensity feature that lets AudioLink move the spectrum sideways over time.

Al Height Offset

AL Height Offset is a AudioLink Offset feature that lets AudioLink offset the height of the spectrum in response to AudioLink bands activating.

Border Only features

Activates Inner Shading

When enabled, this will activate inner shading when AudioLink is present.

More information about inner shading can be found here.

Show Mode

Determines which sides the spectrum will be shown on.

More information about show mode can be found here.
